Dear chess programmer,
We like to gather the opinions of chess programmers regarding the conflicts about the fair use of NNUE and we invite you to submit your vote on one of the four questions.
We will maintain a list on this page of your vote and / or comments unless of course you want to contribute anonymously.
Your email address will be held strictly confidential and only used for verification purposes in case there is doubt on your identity because this poll is for chess programmers only.
Thanks so much in advance.

1 | Ed Schröder | option 2 | If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it? -- Albert Einstein
2 | Aryan | Bit-Genie | option 2
3 | Ferdy | Deuterium | CDrill | Imortal | option 1 | In the spirit of rapid progress it should be unlimited as long as the license (if there is one or wishes of NN author) is respected. I can use other's NN, and they can use mine. It will be a lot evaluation data and as a result more time will be spent in other areas like search improvement, etc. |
4 | Fabio Gobbato | option 2
5 | Pawel Koziol | Rodent | option 1 | At the same time, I'd like to see rating lists adhering to 2.
|
6 | Vivien Clauzon | Minic | option 3 | This is only a preference. At the end only license respect is the real boundary. |
7 | No4b | Drofa | option 3 | |
8 | Steve Maughan | Maverick | option 2 | The evaluation is a key part of the engine —muuch more so than even the opening book. Therefore it should be original and not copied from someone else. |
9 | Edsel Apostol | Twisted Logic, Hannibal, Invictus | option 2 | A game collection for me is just a set of positions that I can use and score based on my own engine's evaluation. These scored positions can be used by my engine for tuning. It is different from using a game collection/set of positions that are already scored by another chess entity. |
